Course Description:

Today’s learners will live and work in an unpredictable environment. This course identifies dispositions that foster the innovation needed to teach in this circumstance. The focus will be on coaching teachers in a way that brings out these dispositions. Participants will identify coaching pitfalls and apply strategies to avoid these pitfalls. They will learn, practice and reflect on coaching strategies that foster innovative teaching dispositions.

• Apply learning theory to coaching situations

1. Describe innovation
2. Identify teaching dispositions that foster innovative teaching
3. Apply innovative teaching dispositions
4. Apply the innovative teaching dispositions in planning for coaching interactions
5. Facilitate trust in coaching relationships
6. Solve problems related to the practice of instructional coaching
