Virtual Reality is the next big step in education. Students can be inside the human body to explore how it all works, go inside famous paintings, learn a new language in relevant surroundings, paint and sculpt in 3D, read virtual interactive books, go to famous places and countries. This new tool has the power to teach our students in ways we never dreamed possible! Now we can make our own virtual reality environments and so can our students. This course will demonstrate how to use different software programs to make VR for teaching, learning and alternative assessment. Your students could show their knowledge of content by recreating and augmenting a virtual reality space that they created! You could give them immersive experiences to engage them in their learning! The possibilities are mind blowing!
This course is designed to meet the following goals:
Readings/Videos - 8 Online Hours
Resources, Readings, assignments and videos will be from on-line sources, however, students may be required to purchase a book (TBA)
Students will be expected to do a lesson plan involving VR creation as a learning tool and as a means of assessment using the Universal Design for Learning Methodology.
Students will read and respond to articles regarding VR use and creation in the classroom.
Students will do research into the benefits and possible drawbacks of using VR with students.
