Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is nationally recognized as a research-based set of strategies to support ALL learners. UDL strategies and practices leverage brain-based research to offer students multiple ways to represent, engage, and express understanding. The basic precept of UDL is to first remove barriers in learning environments before resorting to curriculum modifications and accommodations. . This course will provide participants with an understanding of how to apply UDL principles to increase student motivation and engagement by leveraging student voice and choice in their learning. Additionally, this course will provide specific strategies for leveraging the UDL framework for in-person instruction, blended learning and online/distance learning environments.
