This CAD course will introduce students to the online CAD platform “Onshape”. This is a free for education CAD program that is similar to many industry standard programs. It is a 3D modeling software that uses 2D sketches to create components. The online platform allows for working from almost anywhere, even Chromebooks. This also allows for easy sharing of documents and collaboration.
In addition, students taking this course have the option of working remotely at their own site using CAD (onshape, or their own program) to operate their Design Machinery such as Laser cutters and 3D printers. (**This option will need to be planned ahead of time with the instructor**)
CAD (computer aided design)
Students will have access to, and support with KeyCreator Mechanical CAD software, access to Google Sketchup, Fusion360 and TinkerCad, or may bring their own device and software to improve skills with CAD and develop plans to use CAD in their classroom.
Audience: Technology Education, Art, Science, or any teachers that apply design and technology.
