This course is designed to learn about Nuevo Latino and traditional Spanish food and recipes, as well as a Spanish speaking class. Students will learn how to make dishes from the Spanish postmodern cuisine while practicing speaking Spanish. We will examine Latin American food in context with its related cultural history and contemporary regional economy. Students will discover a variety of recipes which revel an eclectic and modern approach to Hispanic foods. Class will discuss dishes from the traditional cooking to the street foods and food trucks that represent the economy, history and culture of the past and present of the Latinxs world. We will virtually view a plethora of dishes in the making and their demonstrations. We will discuss the cooking process, ingredients and variations. This course will be conducted in Spanish and students are required to speak Spanish during class time according to their level.
