As a Photography minor, you will explore other artists’ photography and be able to relate different art styles to the overall study. You will also think about why an artist chose a particular aesthetic. By analyzing other photography, students will start to develop their own style of photography and aesthetic.
A minor in Photography supports the skills that are needed for many professional positions, including photojournalism, commercial or industrial photography, and studio photographer.
Minoring in Photography also allows you to explore the technical and aesthetic aspects of photography, as well as art history.
These requirements are from an excerpt from the University Academic Catalog, which outlines the requirements for a student to earn the distinction of being a Castleton University graduate. The complete catalog is available online.
