Elisabeth LeBlanc is a Canadian born and Vermont raised and based clarinetist and educator. She is currently principal clarinet with the Opera Company of Middlebury and a member of the Vermont Symphony’s Triple Treble. In a collaboration with the Burlington Chamber Orchestra and Heliand Consort, Elisabeth premiered Don Jamison’s “Through the Clouds” for solo clarinet, bassoon and string orchestra in 2011. Elisabeth is passionate about teaching music to individuals of all ages. This is her second year teaching applied clarinet at Castleton University. She has also been on the faculty of the Middlebury Community Music Center since it’s inception in 2014 where she teaches clarinet and Music Discoveries, an introductory music class for children ages 3-5. She also hosts the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association“Rug Concerts” for children ages 0-5 and their families. Elisabeth received her Bachelor in Music from The Juilliard School and her Master of Music from McGill University. An avid hiker and two time Long Trail thru hiker you can find Elisabeth with her dog Sam aka “Frodo and Samwise” adventuring in Vermont’s backcountry.
