Castleton is pleased to announce the appointment of Burlington Ensemble as its new Artists-in-Residence. The Vermont-based professional chamber music organization has quickly distinguished itself nationally among a wave of new-generation artistic and administrative cultural organizations through its unique approach.
Artistic Directors Sofia Hirsch and Michael Dabroski will present six programs to the Castleton community throughout the next year, the first with the Castleton Collegiate Chorale under the direction of Dr. Sherrill Blodget on May 5. The celebration of “Baroque and Beyond” will feature works by Handel and Telemann for chorus and orchestra.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve as Artists-in-Residence at Castleton, and develop our artistic ideas and business model,” Dabroski said.
“As the host of Vermont’s first Collegiate Artists-in-Residence partnership, Castleton and its music department look forward to an inspiring collaboration of performing and educational endeavors,” added Blodget. “We are excited to share this partnership with the college community, and beyond!”

ABOUT BURLINGTON ENSEMBLE
Artistic Directors Sofia Hirsch and Michael Dabroski have created an innovative “Making Music with a Social Mission” collaborative paradigm that organizes high-quality fundraising concerts to benefit local non-profit organizations year-round. Burlington Ensemble employs a unique and sustainable artistic and business model that reallocates a bulk of their administrative liabilities and decreases cost, minimizes typical committee work, partners with local businesses, and ultimately produces music programs more effectively and efficiently than a typical not-for-profit artistic organization.
