Castleton Director of Nursing Ellen Ceppetelli has once again secured a seat on the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board, a nationally acclaimed nursing accreditation agency.
Re-elected in October of 2013, Ceppetelli joins 12 additional board members of deans, faculty, practicing nurses and public members from across the country, working to move the CCNE mission forward.
“I get the opportunity to understand the national significance of issues and challenges facing nursing education,” said Ceppetelli explaining how her role on the board serves as a valuable resource to the Castleton Nursing Department as it continues to grow. “It gives me the chance to see what’s going on in programs all over the country.”
As a national accrediting agency, The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education is dedicated to the improvement of public health. Through their work the Commission ensures that the country’s nursing schools produce quality baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs, and that healthcare institutions provide a meaningful transition to practice for newly licensed nurses.
Ceppetelli has assumed the role of Secretary of the board for her second term on the board in January 2014, and will also serve on the agency's Executive, Report Review, and Residency Accreditation Committees.
After previously serving three years as a board member, her extensive knowledge of the CCNE accreditation standards and insight into the nursing field has been heavily utilized as the Castleton College Nursing Department works to achieve accreditation.
