Castleton's Christine Price Gallery is pleased to present Jonathon Wells’ “Earth Exposure: Vermont” from Monday, December 2 through Friday December 20 with an artist reception on December 5 from 5-7 p.m.
Pairing fine art photography and geology, Jonathon Wells’ photo-geologic composites search for interplay between the built environment and the geologic foundation below. This unusual surface/subsurface perspective offers a provocative point from which to consider landscape and contemplate our sense of place.
Trained as both a fine art photographer and as a geologist, Jonathon Wells has created scientifically accurate photo-geologic composites with both surface and subsurface views since 2002. He continues to build the existing Urban and Environmental series while initiating new series at sites around the world where he identifies a thought-provoking intersection of land use and underlying geology.
These events are free of charge to the general public and the gallery will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
