Assistant LAN/Systems Administrator Matt Corriere, was honored as the Employee of the Semester for fall 2013 at a reception in the Stafford Academic Center in front of countless friends and colleagues.
In addition to his prowess in the field of IT, Matt also was lauded for his infectious can-do attitude and school spirit.
As part of his nomination, Matt was described as "always helpful, gracious and considerate. When you call him for help, he listens to your needs, instantly evaluates the problem and works out a time frame to assist. He has strong knowledge, excellent communication skills and quality time management. His skills allow him to go beyond any expectations for his position. He can bring a smile to your face during stressful times and truly thinks problems through."
During the ceremony Chief Technology Officer Gayle Malinowski spoke of Matt's time in the department as a great addition to their small family, and that he always approaches every job no matter how big or small with the same enthusiasm.
Upon accepting the award Matt, a New Jersey native, talked about how much he enjoys living and working in Vermont. He quipped about taking 30 minutes to make a five-minute trip to the store because of the outgoing and friendly nature of community members, while also mentioning how thankful he is to work in an environment where everyone knows and respects each other.
