Castleton is proud to announce that former Professor Dr. Mark Fox was recently granted the title of Professor of Humanities Emeritus by the Vermont State Colleges Board of Trustees.
A full time member of the Castleton faculty for over 25 years, Fox served as a Professor of Biology, retiring from the University in 2010.
During his time at the university, Dr. Fox was an influential member of the Natural Sciences Department. He provided distinguished and outstanding service to his students, the university, the greater Castleton community, and to the Vermont State Colleges.
Since his retirement Fox has remained an active part of the department as an adjunct professor. He continues to find innovative ways to make complex scientific concepts understandable and exciting and was selected as a VSC Faculty Fellow by the Board of Trustees in 2009.
Professor Fox has earned the highest respect from the Castleton community and is held in the highest regards by students and colleagues. His devotion to Castleton has permanently enriched the university, providing an overall better educational experience for all students.
“He helped develop the very positive culture of his department, led students in undergraduate research, nurtured and guided young faculty members and let the transformation of our undergraduate teacher education program,” said President Dave Wolk. “In all ways he greatly advanced teaching and learning at Castleton.”
