Castleton welcomes former Vermont Governor Howard Dean for a presentation on “The First Global (Millennial) Generation and The New Rules for Civic Engagement” on Monday, March 31 at 7 p.m. in the Casella Theater.
The Governor will speak about the millennial generation, or First Globals, and how they are working outside of the system to create change. In his interactive presentation he will reference the use of the internet and social media outlets to spread the word on important issues and create petitions to change corporate policy, as well as the use of Facebook, Twitter and other platforms that have allowed this generation to connect with people from all walks of life and ignores country borders. Audience participation will be encouraged during the question and answer period.
This event is free, and open to the public, however tickets are required and expected to sell out quickly. To reserve a seat please go online or contact the Fine Arts Center Box Office at (802) 468-1119.
Dean was originally scheduled to present on February 11, but needed to postpone to be with his mother who had broken her hip.
