Visual artist Barbara Garber and sounds artist Norton Garber of Westminster West, Vt. will both feature exhibits in the Castleton Downtown Gallery running from October 2 through November 2, with a reception scheduled for October 18 at 6 p.m. in the gallery.
Both titled “What We Don’t Even Know,” Barbara’s exhibit of recent collage drawings with sculpture elements will be showcased in Galley 1, while Norton’s sound and video installation will be featured in Gallery 2.
Barbara and Norton live and work from their barn in Southeastern Vermont, which they converted into studios and living space over thirty years ago. With studios on different floors, the two have worked independently, as well as collaboratively, on projects over the years.
The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 1-6 p.m.

ABOUT BARBARA GARBER
Barbara is a painter, printmaker and installation artist. Her work has been featured in both one person and group exhibits in various local galleries, with her most recent installation showcased at the Michael S. Currier Center in Putney, Vt.
Garber has received Grants from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment of the Arts, and was an Artist-in-Residence at the American Academy in Rome in 2001.
ABOUT NORTON GARBER
Norton is a sound artist and musician who creates sound environment and video images. He recently performed at the Spectrum in New York City and has exhibited his videos at the Brattleboro Literary Festival.
