Castleton will host an American Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Campus Center 1787 Room.
About every 2 seconds, someone in the United States is in need of blood, with every donated pint helping to save 3 lives. The Red Cross relies on generous donors to ensure the blood supply does not drop to dangerously low levels.
To donate blood and platelets, individuals must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Eligible donors are encouraged to participate in the drive to help the Red Cross in its mission of providing lifesaving blood to patients and hospitals.
All donors will receive a coupon for a Buy One/Get One Free Adult Ski or Ride ticket to Jay Peak, Smugglers Notch, or Mad River Glen. Those planning to participate are reminded to allow at least 1 ½ hours for the entire blood donation process.
