President Wolk Praised for Hard Work, Humility
Castleton President Dave Wolk was honored for his commitment and dedication to the greater community as he was presented the Pizzagalli Excellence Award sponsored by the Pizzagalli Foundation during the annual Years of Service celebration on December 11.
The foundation selected to honor Wolk for his exemplary contributions towards enhancing Castleton University through sustained application of exceptional vision, hard work, humility, and sincerity. These resolutions ensure a stable and bright future for a significant Vermont institution, while highlighting a distinct example of Vermont’s brand of excellence.
The Pizzagalli Excellence Award is awarded to honor outstanding talent, vision, and commitment resulting in individual achievement in one’s chosen profession or field of endeavor where such accomplishments transcend ordinary results and have widespread impact on the public and our way of life.
When presented the award Wolk said the honor was all thanks to the hard work by the staff and faculty in the crowd, and pledged the $10,000 honorarium to student scholarships because "the students are why we are all here, and who make Castleton special."
Foundation members Jon Pizzagalli and Lisa Pizzagalli presented the award.
