Castleton is pleased to announce the addition of the Master of Arts in Education with a Specialization in Mathematics. This new graduate program is set to debut this spring and is one of three new graduate programs being introduced for the upcoming year.
Through an in-depth study of mathematics, and mathematics teaching and learning, this 36-credit, one-year program is designed to bridge the gap between mathematics and mathematics education theory. The courses offered within the program have content based on the Common Core Standards and are designed to provide information that is compatible with those requirements.
As a collaborative effort of the Department of Education and the Department of Mathematics the program is a combination of mathematics and education graduate courses. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding through field-based curriculum implementation and evaluation, as well as individual and collaborative projects, and reflective classroom inquiry.
For those who have already received their Bachelors Degree, the program is now accepting applications for the spring semester. For more information please visit the Master of Arts in Education with a Specialization in Mathematics page.
In addition, Castleton also offers a Master of Music Education, Master of Arts in Theater, Master of Arts in Education: Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Arts in Education: Special Education (non-licensure), and a Master of Science in Accounting.
