Castleton is pleased to announce the addition of the Master of Music Education degree. This new graduate program is set to debut this summer and is one of three new graduate programs being introduced for the upcoming year.
The only program of its kind in Vermont, Castleton’s Master of Music Education emphasizes real world application with courses taught by experienced music educators. The curriculum focuses on professional development in music teaching pedagogy and provides the opportunity for students to expand and develop their classroom musicianship skills. Additionally, students will develop an advanced understanding of music education through the study of current philosophies, methodologies, and technologies in the field.
The program provides maximum flexibility in scheduling. Students will have the option to complete it in one year as a full-time student, or part-time with convenient summer and evening course offerings that are tailored to the schedule needs of in-service music educators. Graduates from the program will have met the educational requirements for Vermont State Education Licensure.
For those who have already received their Bachelors Degree, the program is now accepting applications for the summer semester. For more information please visit the Master of Music Education page.
In addition, Castleton also offers a Master of Arts in Education with a Specialization in Mathematics, Master of Arts in Theater, Master of Arts in Education: Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Arts in Education: Special Education (non-licensure), and a Master of Science in Accounting.
