Rita Geno Recognized as Employee of the Year
Executive Assistant to the President’s Office Rita Geno was honored as the 2015 Outstanding Employee of the Year, announced at the Years of Service Celebration surrounded by friends, family and colleagues.
As part of her nomination, Geno was described as reliable, kind hearted, and always willing to lend a hand, and has dedicated nearly 40 years as an exemplary Castleton employee.
“Rita Geno is an irresistible force, like the wind or tide or rain or river. She is a wonder, an energy that engulfs those around her,” said President Dave Wolk of Geno’s infectiously positive personality. “The strength of her spirit, the generosity of her soul, and the authenticity of her character – they brighten the life of everyone who ventures into the President’s Suite.”
Upon accepting the award Geno was joined by her family and acknowledged the many people who have made her journey at Castleton a memorable one, including President Dave Wolk, referring to the university as “her home away from home.”
