Move in Expectations
During your move in process you will be expected to follow all guidelines set forth in this document, the Spartan Pledge and follow all guidelines set forth by the Governor of Vermont. Note, before moving in you should make sure you have followed all travel guidelines set forth prior to coming to campus (https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel)
Move in Process for all students coming to campus
All students checking in should enter campus through the Seminary Road entrance. You will proceed past the Fine Arts Center and the back of the Library where you will be directed to tent #1 the Jeffords Parking lot. At tent #1 all students will find out if they must be tested for COVID. If the student must complete a COVID test they will proceed the Pavilion located by the Dave Wolk Stadium. If the student does not have to be tested they will proceed to tent #2 to check in to the residence halls and pick up their room key. Students who had to be tested will come back to tent #2 and show proof of COVID test to check in to the residence halls and pick up room their room key. Please follow all signage on campus for parking and building information when you arrive.
Please note all residence Life staff will be available for questions. Please look for staff members wearing a polo shirt and nametag.
We encourage all students who need to be tested for COVID to arrive earlier than their scheduled move in time. Testing will take place from 9:00am-2:00pm with the last tests beginning at 1:30pm. We expect that there will be a line at the testing location. If you do not have to be tested for COVID we ask that you arrive at your scheduled move in time.
New Castleton students (first-year and transfer)
Can check into the residence halls on Saturday August 15th, 2020. There will be specific move in times below for each building. Move in will begin as early as 9:00 am and run until 4:00 pm
If you are moving into one of the following buildings your move in time will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
If you are moving into one of the following buildings your move in time will be 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Audet House
***Students must attend their scheduled time for move in. If there is a need such as traveling from a distance away that would prevent you from attending a morning session you should contact residence life (residencelife@castleton.edu) to set up a more feasible time for move in.
As a reminder, Introduction to campus life will begin on the morning of August 16th, 2020. This will be a daylong event and more details about orientation will be sent by email shortly. If I may be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Returning Castleton students

Any student arriving after 4:00 P.M. will not be able to move in until 7:00 pm at which time they can check in with the CA on duty in their building. Sorry, we will not be able to accommodate any early arrivals this year. Please plan accordingly.
Returning students will not be required to schedule a time to move in but must move in between the times stated above. Students arriving after 4:00 pm will not have access to the halls until 7:00 p.m. when a CA will be on duty.
